Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and foster a cooperative work environment.
• Obtain specimens following laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with care providers regarding patient data and samples.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Adhere to procedural directions and prioritize workload.
• Handle specimen packaging and transport correctly.
• Perform specimen accessioning and drug screen collection.
• Practice infection control procedures and ensure patient safety.
• Provide phlebotomy services with professionalism and patient-centered care.
• Engage in self-evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Promote service excellence and contribute to laboratory growth.
• Collaborate with various departments within the laboratory or healthcare system.
• Perform arterial punctures and other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience.
• Experience working in a clinical setting.
