Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at The University of Vermont Health Network. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring a seamless perioperative experience. As a Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN, you will play a vital role in patient preparation, monitoring, critical evaluation, complication prevention, pain management, and patient/family education.

Additionally, the Perioperative Services Float RN will have the opportunity to gain expertise in two of the following areas: Operating Room Circulating Nurse, Pre/Post Nurse, or Endoscopy Nurse.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
• Completion of CVPH critical care course or passing grade on challenge exam within six months.
• Minimum of two years of med/surg nursing experience; Critical Care experience preferred.
• ACLS required; PALS within 12 months.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Competency in IV therapy and venipuncture.
• Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and complete multiple responsibilities efficiently.
• Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills.
• Previous experience in Perioperative Services a plus.
