Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join The University of Vermont Health Network team. As a Registered Professional Nurse in the Emergency Room, you will be responsible for managing patient care through the nursing process, ensuring high-quality outcomes. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, collaboration with healthcare personnel, and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Room setting.
• Interact with patients, families, staff, and management with a high level of interpersonal skills.
• Collaborate with healthcare personnel to provide holistic patient care.
• Handle multiple priorities simultaneously to ensure efficient patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in NYS.
• Experience in emergency department or critical care is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work outside normal hours as needed.
• Ability to pass Critical Care exam within one month of employment or possess current CEN certificate.

Requirements

• At least one year of past medical/surgical experience as an RN.
• Ability to meet physical pre-placement screening requirements.
• Experience in ambulatory care setting or physician office practice is a plus.
• Supervisory experience is desirable.
